FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Rutherfordton, NC The International Surface Finishing Academy (SFA) is pleased to announce that Matt Kreiner of Oxford Instruments Industrial Analysis Lab will present “XRF for RoHS Screening and Beyond” at the 6th Annual Southern Metal Finishing Conference in Charleston, SC on September 13-15. Since the RoHS directive was enacted three years ago, there have been improvements in instrument design that can facilitate implementing a total quality program. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) is one of these new powerful tools now available for RoHS screening.

Matt Kreiner of Oxford will provide Southern Metal Finishing conference attendees interested with an overview of the new equipment available for RoHS screening and will discuss ways it can also be used for a variety of other analyses, including alloy verification and coating thickness analysis. His presentation will demonstrate that RoHS screening with XRF equipment is a cost-effective and simple way to validate the supply chain, perform incoming inspection, and ensure quality manufacturing.

Matt holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and has worked with Oxford Instruments for the last 7 years. During that time, he has held roles in
applications, inside sales, and business development, and is currently working as a Key Accounts Manager. Oxford Instruments is a leading manufacturer of analytical equipment
based on XRF, optical emission spectrometry, eddy current, and magnetic inductance.

The Southern Metal Finishing Conference has been held annually since 2003, and has gained a following of dedicated metal finishing professionals of all kinds, from all over the United States and abroad. The conference combines two days of educational workshops and technical sessions, with a supplier tabletop exposition, and some very unique networking
opportunities to socialize - in a very charming and historic atmosphere.
