FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Queretaro, Mexico   The International Surface Finishing Academy is pleased to announce a new Anodizing for Aerospace workshop to be held on November 10-12, 2014 at the UNAQ campus in Queretaro, Mexico.  The three day course will be instructed by Bill Corcoran, a Lead Nadcap Auditor in Chemical Processing and a qualified instructor for eQualearn, the education/training arm of the Performance Review Institute.  Corcoran is a former business school professor and has specialized in teaching Nadcap Audit Preparation in Chemical Processing.

This three day course will address the engineering and science of anodizing and chemical conversion coating of aluminum, and will cover aluminum metallurgy, anodizing processing for sulfuric acid anodizing and, chromic acid anodizing.  Aerospace processing specifications will be addressed in order to convey the distinction necessary to comply with the requirements of the major primes such as Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Lockheed and others. In addition to this in-depth theoretical study of surface finishing – guest speakers will present technical presentations on topics ranging from DC power supplies, software control, masking, waste treatment, and anodize line design for the aerospace industry.

“This is an unprecedented event for not only the Surface Finishing Academy – but for all of Mexico as well. Very little training about anodizing and chemical processing is offered directly to the aerospace industry inside of Mexico.  We are very excited to be hosting this event at the UNAQ campus in Queretaro.  The location for this workshop couldn’t be better, the UNAQ is the leader in aerospace education and Queretaro is certainly a hot spot for this type of manufacturing”, said Paul Fisher, director of the International Surface Finishing Academy.

The Surface Finishing Academy is an organization committed to the advancement and facilitation of education in the Surface Finishing Industry worldwide. Their curriculum has included programs in Powder Coating, Electroplating, Waste Water Pollution Prevention, Anodizing, Precision Cleaning Technology, and many other areas that comprise the Surface Finishing sector.

The Aeronautical University in Querétaro (UNAQ) was created in 2008 as a public institution of undergraduate and postgraduate education specialized in aeronautical training.  It is contiguous to aeronautical companies such as Bombardier, Safran Group, Aribus Helicopters, ITS, the city’s Intercontinental Airport and the new TechOps center for Aeromexico-Delta Airlines.  The UNAQ has distinguished itself by providing solutions in education and specialized training in the aeronautical sector.  For more information about the UNAQ and their programs please visit their website at http://www.unaq.edu.mx/ or contact Karla Leticia Palomares Perez at (442) 101-6600.

For more information and questions about how to register for this workshop please contact Paul Fisher of the Surface Finishing Academy at (415) 100-8282 in Mexico and (828) 429-2618 in the USA, or by email at pfisher@surfacefinishingacademy.com
